The much-awaited Hospitality Purchasing Manager’s Forum’s (HPMF) seventh anniversary’s convention is set to begin in Jodhpur. The three days long meet will formally be inaugurated by His Highness The Maharaja Gaj Singh of Jodhpur. The seventh convention and Awards ceremony will begin from 14th to 16th September 2017 at Indana Palace, Jodhpur.
HPMF is a consortium of purchasing managers from the hospitality industry representing star hotels, catering companies, stand-alone restaurants and airlines. This year’s unique concept is “Seven Elements of the Universe”. Here, they will try to bring Purchase Managers (PM) of different organizations on one platform. The synergy, coordinated efforts and the passion will lead to better environment in Hospitality Procurement. The platform will also work out a collective strategy to create better name for their fraternity. Training and development needs will be identified and a solid 3 year plan of action will created to implement the strategies for achieving 100% results.
The HPMF was conceived and conceptualised by Nitin Shankar Nagrale in 2010. It has grown manifold right from its inception and known a well known global organization with over 1400 members from the hospitality purchasing fraternity. Some of the key elements of HPMF are training and development of procurement professionals, consolidated procurement, industry product standardization, volume discounts, improved professionalism in purchasing process, development of potential vendors and last but not least green initiatives and corporate social responsibilities.
HPMF believes in presenting new venues and concepts in every year’s annual convention. They are well known to organised convention at different destinations. Last year it was held Bhubaneshwar in Odisha. This year they are presenting 7th annual convention event amidst the rustic tranquil of Rajasthan at The Majestic Hotel Indana Palace in Jodhpur. The delegates will experience the grandeur of the palatial mansions and be transported back to the regal era of the past times. They will soak in the soulful music emanating from the desert sands and soothe their senses.

Three day plans of HPMF
The three days event is well planned and systematically organised. On first day, after welcoming delegates to the Vibrant Jodhpur, they would be taken around to visit some of the Historical Places. A traditional sit down dinner is organised at one of the most beautiful palaces of Jodhpur.
The convention would be inaugurated on second day. It includes several presentations, panel discussions on latest trends in organic and on future of hospitality procurement.
In the evening delegates would be at a surprise place to have fun with some scintillating local cocktails and dinner.
On third and concluding day, two panel discussions and four presentations on different topics will be held. It would cover entire spectrum of Hospitality Procurement. The topic would also involve way forward for the Purchasing Manager, Green Hotels, Organic Procurement and Tips for being a successful buyer. The presentations will be made by senior leading working professionals from across India. Few of senior Global may also come on the dais to share their knowledge. They are also anticipating their confirmation in days to come. On both days the delegates will be busy with B2B Meetings in the second half where the 30 top suppliers of India will have face to face meetings with them.
The HPMF initiated awards for Procurement Excellence in Hospitality Industry. These awards will help the fraternity to get motivated and work better. The award category consists of Emerging Procurement Person of the year, Male Procurement Person of the year, Female Procurement Person of the year, Best Hospitality Procurement Team, Best Sustainable Development Sensitive Procurement Team, The Living Legend Awards etc. The HPMF will also honour a few Special Achievers from India along with the unsung heroes.

Nitin Shankar Nagrale is currently working with Foodlink Restaurants India Private Limited as Vice President Materials. He is the first person in the world to have completed the CERTIFIED HOTEL PURCHASE MANAGER Certification Course from American Hotel and Lodging Education Institute (AHLEI). He has a rich experience of over 22 years in managing procurement and supply chain procedures. Beginning his career with Taj Mahal Palace & Towers he has vast experience working in leading brands. These includes Taj Lands End (The Regent Mumbai), Grand Hyatt Mumbai, Jet Airways, Radhakishna Offshore, The Westin Mumbai Garden City, Sofitel Mumbai BKC and the upcoming The Chedi Mumbai (formerly Radisson Blu Plaza Mumbai) Director Materials.
Educational assets of founder HPMF Nitin has completed his hotel Management from IHM Mumbai and completed his graduation in Commerce from Mumbai University. He has obtained Diploma in Materials Management from IIMM Bangalore. He has also completed his Masters in Marketing Management from prestigious Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai.
