China Inc offers The August Moon festival at Taj Santacruz

The August Moon festival or the Mid-Autumn festival is a harvest festival celebrated in China, celebrated with much fanfare. In India too it has gained enough popularity too for last many years. To ring in the festivities, China Inc the exclusive Chinese restaurant at Taj Santacruz Hotel is organising an August Moon food festival.

China Inc’s Head Chef Sudarshan Sawant has prepared a special menu on the occasion to give diners the opportunity to sample delicacies that are not a part of the regular menu. Chef Sawant says he has put together dishes that are unique.

They have a selection of dim sums that can be ordered steamed or pan fried which includes Pan seared chicken corn dumpling, Vegetable cheese dumpling.

Starters: include sautéed shrimp and asparagus,sautéed shrimp and asparagus, crispy crumbed supreme with lemon sauce and sichuan chicken wing star anise. Vegetarian starters consists of silken tofu tangy sesame peanut dressing, stir fried snow peas and kalian with garlic chips and crispy haricot chilli garlic.

Soup: consists of winter melon and morels broth, tomato egg drop soup, peking soup – vegetarian and chicken.

Main course: non-vegetarian pan seared scallops in butter garlic, sautéed crab meat with snow white bean thread and chilli hoisin chicken. Vegetarian includes braised shiitake and winter bamboo shoot, steamed bean curd with black mushroom, seasonal vegetables in lemon chilli sauce and egg plant yue-heung.

Noodle and rice: Wok tossed sticky rice, marble egg served in lotus leaf  Veg  and chicken), Chicken, stir fried udon noodles in burnt chilli, Black bean and vegetables (vegetarian and chicken).

Dessert: Moon cake and Sagoo pudding.
