Seasoned hotelier, Manish Sodhi has joined as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sahara Star hotel. The position remained vacant as Vivek Kumar resigned from the post last month. Prior to joining Sahara Star, he was working as a General Manager of The Lalit Mumbai hotel. Manish is a stalwart in hospitality industry. He has around two decades of experience and a successful background in leading hotels to higher levels of service and guest satisfaction.
Manish, a long-serving hotel veteran, packing along a passion for the business, a creative mind, a charismatic devotion and extensive skills acquired over the span of his career. He has the leadership, drive and the attitude that naturally inspires his team to give their best.
Beyond his strive to perfection; Manish’s exposure to numerous operations in the various hotels will contribute undoubtedly to the further success of Sahara Star. During this new journey, Manish will solidify the landmark’s position as a benchmark of impeccable hospitality, and will continue to set the bar high in the commercial capital of India.
After completing his education, Manish first joined Director of Outlets/ Food & Beverage Operations Manager at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. in year 2000, in Greater Boston Area. In 2005, he joined The Leela Mumbai hotel as Food and Beverage Manager and worked there for around 2 years. He then moved in 2007 to join Hotel Sahara Star as Food and Beverage Manager and reached the position of General Manager. He remained in the group till April 2016 heading Hotel Sahara Star & Aamby Valley City. In May 2016, he joined The Lalit Mumbai hotel as General Manager. And now he is returned back to Sahara Star.
Sodhi completed his Bachelors in Hotel Management from Welcomgroup School of Hotel Administration in 1997. Thereafter, he completed his degree of Bachelors in Hospitality – Field Of Study Hospitality Administration/Management and graduated in 1998 from Southern New Hampshire University. Manish wanted to enhance his hospitality skills to advanced level, so he joined prestigious Johnson & Wales University and completed his Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in flying colours.
It is worth mentioning here, that Manish is a second generation hotelier. His father, Late Arvinder Singh Sodhi was leading chef in India who worked for top luxury brands of hospitality chains. Late Sodhi was first Chef in India who did his Hotel Management degree from Germany, which was considered rare things in the past.
