Thane city becomes first digital city in India

After the recent elevation of Raj Thackeray as Shiv Sena leader, he inagurated the digi-city platform in Thane. India is marching towards building a digital nation, and smart cities are an integral part of it. Digi-city is a mobile phone app which will let the citizens access the services provided by the Thane Municipal Corporation.
Thane city becomes the first digital city in the country. The Digi Thane application and Digi card will bring corporation, government and commercial services on one platform. The users will be able to shop, or book tickets, or pay taxes using the app.
“It is a huge responsibilty given to me by the party, and my aim would be do good development work. this is a historic moment  for Thane. This is where old historic Thane and new Thane that uses technology comes together”, Said, Aaditya Thackeray, while speaking at the event.
Shiv Sena leader Eknath Khadse was the chief guest at the event, Mayor of Tel Aviv in Israel, Ron Huldai was the special guest. Thane Mayor Meenakshi Shinde, MP Dr Srikant Shinde, MLA Pratap Sarnaik, MLC Ravindra Phatak and Thane collector Dr Mahendra Kalyankar were other dignatries who attended the event.
