Dr Shivaji Patil has been appointed as new Residential Deputy Collector (RDC) of Thane District in Mahatashtra. Prior to his new appointment as RDC Thane, he was working as Deputy Collector at Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) in Thane.
Dr. Shivaji Patil is a qualified Medical Doctor and has completed his BAMS degree from Nanded. Though being a qualified doctor, he was keen on doing something extra ordinary in public life, so he opted for State Civil Services and became direct Deputy Collector in Maharashtra State.
Dr. Patil started his administrative career in 2002 at Raigad district. In year 2005, Dr Patil was posted as Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) in Mahad Taluka. Same year, there was a heavy downpour and land sliding in Mahad area. Due to natural calamities many lives were lost and properties were also destroyed. During at the time of crisis he started helping affected people on top priority basis.
It is worth mentioning here that with the help of NGO’s and without taking any financial assistance from state government, he could managed to construct around 400 houses in record time. The houses were handed over to affected people in a very speedy manner. Due to his distinguished performance in helping people of Mahad, the stae government appreciated his efforts. He was felicitated for his outstanding performance by than Governor of Maharashtra, Chief Minister and Chief Secretary of Maharashtra.
Soon after completing his tenure as SDO Mahad, he was posted as Residential Deputy Collector (RDC) at Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) for four years. He was also posted as RDC at Mumbai Suburban Collectorate office. He has also worked as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Prakash Mehta, Labour Minister of Maharashtra for the period of one year. During his tenure at Thane SRA which began in 2016, he was instrumental in doing work sppedily in Thane region.
