Australian Parliamentarian meets Maharashtra Governor

A delegation of Australian Parliamentarian of joint standing committee called on the Governor of Maharashtra CH. Vidyasagar Rao at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai on Monday, 6th August, 2018. The Parliamentary delegation was led by Chair Stuart Rowland Robert.

The Governor of Maharashtra welcoming the parliamentary delegation said “Air connectivity between Mumbai and major Australian cities will benefit horticulture and tourism sectors in the State”. The Governor sought the cooperation of Australia in establishing a Sports University in Maharashtra.

Chair of joint standing committee – Stuart Rowland Robert said “Australia’s India Economic Strategy has identified 10 key sectors for partnership that includes Education, Agribusiness, Tourism, Energy, Financial Services and Sports etc. Direct air connectivity between Mumbai and major Australian cities will boost cooperation in many areas”. The Chairman assured his cooperation in this regard.

Michael Danby, MP, Mrs Nola Marino, MP and Tony Huber, Consul General of Australia in Mumbai were among those present.
