Casting couch does exist in TV industry: Vivek Mishra

He is a recipient of Dadasaheb Phalke Award & Big Boss 7 fame

Time and again some news erupts in film and television industry about existence of casting couch. This time Vivek Mishra who has been one of the boldest personality in show biz to speak up about the dark side of the industry.

When asked, what does it take to be a movie star in B-town? Is talent enough, or do you have to go the ‘extra mile’ to win that audition?
Vivek said “Casting couch does exist in TV industry, those who says that they have not encountered it; they are lying. Everybody goes through that but doesn’t want to confess it. In TV industry, it you are not doing a favor, then you are surely not getting a good role. It starts from a minor to major level. There are few coordinators who promise you to give role of bahu; on the screen but ask you to wear a bikini for the audition. In fact, there are few bold coordinators also who directly says that he/she has to satisfy his client for a lead role. People do fall in such kind of trap. The glamour doesn’t allow them to understand what is right or wrong. Personally, I too have been a victim of casting couch where I was asked a favor to please three men. Thankfully, I was bold enough to walk out of the situation”

It may be noted that Vivek Mishra rose to fame with his realty show stint in Big Boss 7 and couple of other shows on television with highest TRP’s. He is a winner of Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation Award 2016 Best for TV Entertainer conferred upon him. The award is one of the highest honours in Bollywood and Television industry. It is given annually by the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation for contribution to Indian cinema.
