Dr. Mahendra Kalyankar; Maharashtra’s best District Collector

On civil service day, Maharashtra Chief Minister (CM) Devendra Fadnavis felicitated Thane Collector Dr Mahendra Kalyankar for his outstanding performance in district development. He is accorded as the best collector status in Maharashtra. Thane’s district collector is considered to be the best district chief in Maharashtra due to his extraordinary working methodology. The felicitation ceremony was held in state guest house Sahyadri at Malabar Hill in south Mumbai on Friday.

The felicitation of Dr. Kalyankar was undertaken due to his successful efforts, innovative ideas, impletation of state schemes effectively and various initiatives in Thane district. All the initiatives were undertaken and were focussed in larger public interest. These initiatives includes his attempts to increase the revenue collection, providing effective government services to the public by using effective information technology, distribution of loan through Prime Minister’s Mudra Yojana, a significant increase in crop loan, distribution of works done by the people in the water supply scheme (Water coagulating – Jalyukta Shivar), taking a lead to start first district skill development center of in Maharashtra state and maximum funds for rural areas.

While felicitating Thane Collector, CM Fadnavis said “Thane district has taken lead in public services which is commendable.Other district official should take inspiration from Kalyankar for betterment of their district and should try to do best public services. The civil servants should dedicate their time and energy in the welfare of people”.

The felicitation gives you more energy and you feel like working more and more and put best foot forward to do more concrete steps for civil society. I believe that happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort. Being a civil servant we cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity of others. Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others too”.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by Finance minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, Industry minister Subhash Desai, Chief Secretary of Maharashtra Sumit Mullick.
