Meena Bhatnagar newly appointed General Manager of Taj Wellington Mews

Meena Bhatnagar has been appointed as General Manager of Taj Wellington Mews, Mumbai recently. Prior to joining Taj Wellington Mews, she was working as Executive Housekeeper at the Taj Lands End Mumbai. Bhatnagar brings with her three decades of experience in luxury hospitality.

 

Bhatnagar is known for her commitment to excellence, her passion for the hospitality business and her deep dedication to her work. These along with her clear-sighted vision of future plans and her intuitive feel for guests’ requirements have made her a resounding success at all the properties that she has worked at.

 

Began her career as housekeeping supervisor:

Meena Bhatnagar started as a house keeping manager but through constant hard work and initiative rose to become the general manager, serving as an inspiring example for women in an industry where executive levels are male-dominated. She possessed attitude of working hard without asking, she has always “looked up” towards her career future and did more than she was assigned or was responsible for.

Educational assets:

After finishing her high school from Springdales Public School in Delhi, graduation from Delhi University, Meena took hotel management degree from prestigious IHM Pusa in year 1988. Soon after completing her hotel management, she joined Oberoi group of hotels learning and implementing nuances of trade, remained their till 2003. Thereafter she got an opportunity to work with Taj group in 2004; she never looked back and remained with group till date, reaching in top slot.  

Inter- Personal Skill key to success:

Bhatnagar is known for her positive attitude, her team spirit, her ability to motivate personnel and strong work ethics. Her educational assets lay emphasis on the value of education and learning. She has proven her leadership skills time and again and believes in walking the talk. Her inter-personal skills have come to the fore in managing diversity and in maintaining excellence even in a unionised environment. Positive communication, recruiting, identifying and developing of key personnel for structured growth are aspects of the business she has handled with ease and skilled competency.

A trainer herself:

Besides conducting training programmes herself, she has implemented and maintained regular training systems to ensure that associates have the necessary framework and skills to perform their job efficiently and effectively. As part of her employee growth programmed she has developed teams to take on Senior Housekeeping positions in other Taj Properties. Bhatnagar has achieved high scores in employee satisfaction tracking and has been instrumental in implementing opportunities for quality team building.
