Its time to relish Moplah Cuisine at Jamavar

Chef Purushottam Naidu of The Leela Group of Hotels unravels the lost archives of Moplah cuisine with an exclusive Moplah food festival at Jamavar restaurant at The Leela Mumbai.

Moplah cuisine is unique with distinct Northern Kerala flavours and a blend of Arabic and Persian influences. The menu will showcase an array of regional classics and local favourites.

There are numerous dishes to choose from elegantly designed menu from soup, starters, main course and desserts.

Exclusive dishes include Elanner Pineapple Paneeyam, Idicha Moru and Kozhikode Kozhi Soup.

Traditional appetizers includes Vazhapoo Vada, Choora Cutlet, Pachakari Bonda, Konju Chuttathu, Ulli Vada, Ari Kadukka and Kozhi Cheriyaulli Roast to name a few.

 

The main course consists of Malabar Kozhi Curry, Wayanad Kozhi Mappas,Thenga Aracha Meen Chaaru, Eraichi Urlankezhangu Stew, Konju Pollichathu and many more. Options for vegetarians includes like Thakkali, Koon Masala Curry, Muringayila Parippu Curry Nadan Pachakari Khorma and much more.

 

Chef’s Special:  Meen Molaku Curry (spicy and sour king fish curry), Eraichi Varattiyathu (lamb cubes dry roasted with coconut and Malabar spices), Cheemen Manga Chaaru (shrimps simmered in ground spices with green mango and shallots) and Vendakka Molakittathu (spicy and sour ladyfinger curry with coconut curry).

 

Complement your meal with staples like Kappa Vivichathu, Podi Pathiri, Idiappam, Ari Pathal or trademark rice preparations like Moplah Biryani, Chuvanna Choru and Neichoru. End your meal with traditional sweet treats like Unnakkayi, Cheru Payaru Payasam or Pal Ada Payasam.
