India's immediate island neighbor Sri Lanka has lot to offer to Indian tourists and wedding planners. This time Sri Lankan government has taken initiative. Sri Lanka's Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs, John Anthony Emmanuel Amaratunga is in Mumbai, to participate in Indian International Travel and Tourism (IITT) Exhibition. The exhibition will begin tomorrow 10th January 2019. Sri Lanka wants to cash in on the coming wedding season in India and promote the country as a perfect wedding destination. The plan afoot is to wooing Indian tourists with pristine beaches, wonderful hospitality, great shopping experiences and yummy food.

Sri Lankan Consul General in Mumbai has proposed a meeting between Wedding Planners & Travel Media in Mumbai with the Hon. Minister of Tourism and the Officials. This would be an interactive session with leading wedding planners and travel media to take Sri Lanka to next level. The meeting with minister will be held at Metropolitan Region Development Authorition (MMRDA) Exhibition Centre, Bandra Kurla Complex.


It may be noted that Sri Lanka is very closest destination near South India with direct connectivity of Sri Lankan airlines daily flights. The Sri Lanka has exclusive venues in different parts of the country which can be a best destination for wedding purpose. Sri Lanka is a tourist friendly country and has very good infrastructure. India's leading hotel, Taj Samudra and World's best of the hotels are present in Sri Lnaka to cater to all kinds of needs of tourists and wedding planners. There are many famous tourist destinations to consider the best place to visit in Sri Lanka. These destinations include Sigiriya, Galle, Kandy, Polonnaruwa, Mirissa, Yala National Park, Colombo and Anuradhapura to name a few.
