Aaditya Thackeray, the youngest minister in Maharashtra government, has managed to win many hearts with his smile and dedication to do hard work. Aaditya is the Minister of Environment and Climate, Tourism, and Protocol. The dynamic leader already has a book published in his name. My Thoughts in White and Black, published in 2007, was a collection of poems.
Starting with the obvious – Thackeray is by far the youngest racehorse in this election. Nephew of his MNS rival Raj Thackeray, Aditya is only 30 years old – in comparison, the youngest-ever person to become chief minister of Maharashtra was Sharad Pawar, who rose to office at a considerably older age of 38. While some critics accuse him of not being politically experienced, it’s welcome to see a younger face, and younger perspective among the contesting crowd. Aditya, like several other Indian politicians, comes with a dynasty behind his name – although the Thackerays are political heavyweights perhaps only out-dynastied by the Gandhi family themselves. Regarding this, Aditya responds with calm confidence. “The BJP has a lot of dynasts too. A lot of their MPs are dynasts,” he elucidates. “The point is today in our country, I believe, people should come ahead to do whatever they feel is very important to their lives. If there is a dynast who is not at all interested in politics, he shouldn’t be there.” Now here’s a move we can definitely get behind. Ever since 2015, Aditya has campaigned for boosting Mumbai’s nightlife with lighter restrictions, later hours and security to back up the initiative. “This proposal is for all age groups, all economic zones- from those who want to chill at night, eat at some paani puri or rolls place or have coffee somewhere after a late night football game, to those who work late and can only afford a simple meal on their way home.” He continues to draw parallels to other international cities with lots of late-night economic activity, stating that “cities like New York and London are open 24/7 even after suffering major terrorist attacks. Anti-social elements, drunk drivers, terrorists are even found during the day, and under a strong government, I am sure that they will be neutralized.”
Growing up in the shadow of grandfather Bal Thackeray means that ever since a young age, Aditya Thackeray’s been no stranger to the famous and influential in Mumbai – a large part of whom are part of the film industry. He’s been known to hang out with actress Disha Patani (which the tabloids had pretty-much a field day with). He’s also been seen working on public welfare schemes with Bollywood superstars such as Akshay Kumar. Like all politicians, Aditya might be a man of contradictions – which makes his role in the next era of the Shiv Sena all the more interesting to interested onlookers.
In a warm gesture on his 30th birthday on Saturday, Maharashtra Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray helped save the life of a 6-day old infant suffering from major heart problems, Yuva Sena sources said. The child, Aarzoo, was born at a civic hospital in Airoli and later shifted to the Mangal Prabhu Hospital in Nerul after doctors advised emergency surgery to save him.
He sent out desperate pleas for help to friends and acquaintances which also flashed on social media and finally reached Yuva Sena activists Rahul Kanal and Hussain Shah. They responded to the SOS and managed to convey it to Yuva Sena President and Thackeray who readily agreed to help save the infant’s life.Son of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray immediately sent a contribution of Rs 100,000 to Ansari and has also promised to take care of
Aarzoo’s future medicare expenses.
As the President of Yuva Sena celebrates his birthday today on June 13, Twitterati did not shy away from pouring their love for him.
Bollywood actress and his friend Disha Patani, who shares her birthday with Aaditya, took to Twitter to extend greetings for the day. “Happiest b’day
To celebrate his birthday, Aaditya has requested people and well-wishers to not spend money on hoardings, garlands and cakes. He has decided not to celebrate his birthday in the wake of COVID-19 situation in the country. Penning down a wish for him, Riteish Deshmukh wrote, “My dearest @adityathackeray – wishing you a very happy birthday my brother – more power to you & keep doing the good you are doing. Good health, happiness & love forever”. Last year, when Thackeray was elected as an MLA, Riteish took to his social media to congratulate him. In the same thread, he also extended his wishes to Uddhav Thackeray on being sworn in as the CM of Maharashtra.
