- Versatile Anjali held key positions in airlines and education
Anjali Mehra, well-respected hospitality marketing stalwart recently joined as Vice President Marketing at The Leela Palaces, hotels and Resorts. She brings with her two and half decades of rich and varied experience in hospitality Brand Marketing and Communications. Prior to joining The Leela group she worked at Marriott International as Senior Director Communications Middle East and Africa. In her new role she will provide strategic counsel to the company’s senior executive leadership team and would be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive and integrated Marketing and Communication roadmap. As an ongoing strategy she would strengthen the positioning of The Leela brand as an embodiment of true Indian luxury as it embraces the next new phase in its growth trajectory. Anjali Mehra has worn several hats before joining the hospitality industry. She is a passionate storyteller and a brand evangelist. She has worked as educator and held key leadership positions in India’s leading airlines.
Her previous extensive experience includes Regional Director Communications Africa and Indian Ocean, Director Marketing & Communications South Asia with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Director of Marcom at The Westin Mumbai Garden City, Director of Marcom at Shillim by Hilton, P R Manager at Taj Lands End hotel, Marcom Manager Goa Marriott Resort, Branch Director at Image PR, Marcom Manager at Hotel La Paz Gardens Goa, Center Manager at Little Footprints Play School, Station Manager at NEPC Airlines and Duty Manager at Damania Airways.
Educational Assets: Anjali completed her education from prestigious institutions and Universities. She is a Postgraduate in English Literature from Delhi University, holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication as well as a Business Management Degree with specialization in Marketing. The prestigious educational institutes she passed out from include Army Public School, Lady Shriram College for Women New Delhi, Hindu College Delhi University, Institute of Management Studies and IGNOU.
Achievement: She has been an Executive Board Member of Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA) and a jury member for the MEPRA Awards. Passionate about nurturing talent she has actively mentored both aspiring female leaders as well as helped luxury General Managers hone their skills in personal branding. She enjoys travelling and exploring new cultures, is an avid reader, loves writing and trend watching and calls herself an experimental Instagrammer.
