Celebrity Master Chef Sabyasachi Dasmahapatra recently came on board at The Ambassador Hotel, Mumbai as Executive Chef. He joins from his previous stint as executive chef at the acclaimed Radisson Hotel Kolkata. He comes from the family of hoteliers his wife Janita is from IHM – Bhubaneswar and a former Housekeeper from Hotel. His youngest Brother Chef Sankha is working as Chef de Cuisine (CDC) in Marriott International. He has been in industry with around two decades of culinary experience, and will oversee entire food production of restaurants and banquets.
Chef Sabyasachi completed his secondary and higher secondary education Negua S.N High School in East Midnapure, West Bengal. He completed his Hotel Management education from NIPS School of Hotel Management, Salt Lake City, Kolkata in the year 2001. He began his culinary journey as KET (Kitchen Management Trainee) from The Park Kolkata.
Chef Sabyasachi’s highlight of career is, he regards himself as an artistic Cook. His preparations echo innovation, keeping the authenticity intact in the recipe with diversities of dishes for every palate. He has acquainted Fiesta and Organic Menu among the food connoisseurs in his early professional career.
He Re- discovered and familiarized the almost elapsed British Raj (Colonial) Cuisine to the mainstream culinary platform. He has introduced Churrascarea (Brazilian Barbeque) and Passador (Meat Waiters) concept to City of Joy (Kolkata) which has been cherished and recognized by Nandan Bagchi (Food Critic) and Vir Sanghvi..! He has also rediscovered Himalayan Cuisine too in different forms. Chef Sabyasachi has contributed in various Food projects with the culinary stalwarts -Chef Tarla Dalal, Chef Bobby Chin, Chef Sanjeev Kapoor and Chef Vikas Khanna to name a few.
In his culinary journey he has worked at an elegant and historic hotel with a regal history of more than a hundred years– ITC – WelcomHotel The Savoy, Radisson Kolkata – a boutique five star hotel & Balle Resort & spa- a luxury venture by AA walker group of companies (GOA – Aropora).
