Yash Raj Films, one of the leading film production houses in India, has announced the theatrical release dates for five of their hugely anticipated films – Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, Bunty Aur Babli 2, Shamshera, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Prithviraj.
Sharing the release dates for the aforementioned five films, YRF wrote on its Instagram handle, “Yash Raj Films has locked its exciting slate of films for 2021 and the company is signalling its strong intent to bring audiences back to experience films on the big screen.”
Starring Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor in significant roles, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar will enter theatres on March 19. The film, directed by Dibakar Banerjee, was initially slated to release in 2018 and then on March 20, 2020. However, the makers changed the plan again due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Bunty Aur Babli 2, as the title suggests itself, is a sequel to Yash Raj Films’ much-loved heist drama Bunty Aur Babli (2005). Headlined by Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and debutante Sharvari, the sequel is set for its theatrical bow on April 23. Varun V Sharma has directed the film.
Ranbir Kapoor’s much-awaited film Shamshera will hit the silver screen on June 25. Also featuring Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in key roles, the film has been directed by Karan Malhotra of Agneepath (2012) and Brothers (2015) fame.
Earlier scheduled to release on October 2, 2020, Jayeshbhai Jordaar will now find its way into cinemas on August 27. The film, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, has been directed by Divyang Thakkar. It also stars Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani, and Ratna Pathak Shah in important roles.
Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar play the lead pair in Yash Raj Films’ ambitious historical drama Prithviraj. Earlier scheduled for a Diwali 2020 release, the film will now arrive on Diwali this year. Prithviraj also features Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood in important roles. It has been directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi.
