Ranbir Kapoor and filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. With this, the shoot of their respective films, Brahmastra and Gangubai Kathiawadi, has come to a grinding halt.
Ranbir Kapoor was shooting for Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy drama Brahmastra at a Kandivali studio since February-end with minimal crew.
“Ranbir tested positive on Monday. He immediately went into isolation at his Bandra home. The cast and crew are being screened again,” reveals a source.
On Tuesday, the actor’s mother Neetu Kapoor took to Instagram to share an update about his health.
The post read, “Thank you for your concern and good wishes. Ranbir has tested positive for COVID-19. He is on medication and recovering well. He is in self-quarantine at home and following all precautions.”
Some miles away from the sets of Brahmastra in Kandivali, the unit of Gangubai Kathiawadi in Film City too underwent another round of screening.
Brahmastra and Gangubai Kathiawadi both films star Alia Bhatt as the female lead. The actress also underwent the COVID-19 test on Tuesday which turned out to be negative. However, she has home-quarantined herself as a precautionary measure.
