After witnessing a massive spike in COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra, the daily cases are slowly reducing. However, the state continues to report huge deaths due to the virus. Therefore, in view of the second wave, the Western Railway (WR) has decided to reduce the frequency of trains and cancelled several trains until further notice.
The decision of cancellation and reduction in the frequency of some special trains has been taken after the passenger demand dropped.
Here are some of the trains that have been cancelled until further notice:
Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Shatabdi Special, Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Double Decker Special, Bandra Terminus-Surat Superfast Special, Indore-Udhampur Special Train and Indore-Gandhinagar Capital Special cancelled till further notice.
The journey of these trains was supposed to have commenced today (May 3, 2021).
The trains, scheduled to have commenced on Tuesday (May 4) – Dr Ambedkar Nagar-Nagpur Special, Bhavnagar Terminus – Kochuveli Special, Gandhinagar Capital – Indore Special, Indore – Amritsar Special, and Indore – Puri Humsafar Special – are cancelled till further notice.
