World Heart Day: Masina Hospital’s Heart Institute organized 4 km Walkathon

 On World Heart Day, Mumbai’s prominent Masina Hospital’s Heart Institute organized a 4 km walkathon. The main aim of organizing the walkathon was to commemorate World Heart Day and promote the importance of heart health. The walkathon was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Zainulabedin Hamdulay, Senior Cardiac Surgeon and Chairman, Masina Hospital, and Dr. Vispi Jokhi, CEO, Masina Hospital.

The walk started from Masina Hospital to spread awareness about various things one can do including brisk walking, that can benefit to have a healthy heart. Participants were seen carrying placards with informational messages related to heart health. The overall walkathon was meant for spreading the message that with every step taken, walking benefits as one of the best exercises for heart health. It can improve your cholesterol levels, blood pressure, and energy levels and can also fight weight gain to improve overall heart health. Walking can also reduce stress.

The event also saw the participation of various doctors, dignitaries including Dr. Gustad B Daver (Vascular Surgeon), Dr. Aziz Kothawala (Interventional Cardiologist), Dr. Sahil J (Manager Healthcare Services), Ms. Shubhi Kala (Quality Manager), Dr. Needa Vahid, Dr. Shabbir Lokhandwala, and others. There was the active participation of recovered patients too that added great value to its significance.

The walkathon received an enormous response and came out as extremely encouraging and knowledgeable to people in the vicinity of Byculla East.
