Governor of Maharashtra Ramesh Bais on this occasion asserted “ The division of skills into ‘prestigious’ and ‘unprestigious’ in our society prevents the youth from doing small jobs. An uneducated person earns his living, but the unemployed youth who have graduated are not ready to do labour-based work. To change this picture, there is a need to restore the dignity of labour”.

Governor added “Today in the age of artificial intelligence and machine learning, many skills are at risk of becoming obsolete. To overcome this, every youth needs to acquire more than one skill. Along with technical skills, the youth should also pay attention to language and communication skills and parents should encourage children to learn more than one language”.

Governor also said “India being the most youthful country in the world, it will have a population dividend for the next few years. Countries like Japan, Germany and France where the average age is increasing, have high expectations from India for the supply of skilled manpower. To take advantage of this opportunity, education, skill training and skill enhancement of the youth is necessary and this work has to be done by the industrial and business training institutes of the state”.
