Maha Governor Offers Floral Tributes to Late PM Rajiv Gandhi; Administers Sadbhavana Day Pledge

The Governor of Maharashtra, C.P. Radhakrishnan administered the ‘Sadbhavana Day Pledge’ to the officers and staff of Raj Bhavan in Mumbai, on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. This event was held to commemorate the birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi. The pledge reflects a commitment to fostering harmony and goodwill, embodying the spirit of Rajiv Gandhi’s legacy.

On the birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi, observed as ‘Sadbhavana Diwas,’ the Governor first offered floral tributes to the portrait of the late Prime Minister. Following this, he administered the Sadbhavana Day Pledge to the officers and staff of Raj Bhavan, emphasizing the importance of emotional unity and resolving differences through dialogue and constitutional means.

The Sadbhavana Day Pledge calls upon the people ‘to work for the emotional oneness and harmony of all the people of India regardless of caste, creed, region, religion or language’ and to ‘resolve all differences through dialogue and constitutional means without resorting to violence’.

At the event held at Raj Bhavan, the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Pravin Darade, and the Joint Secretary, Shweta Singhal, were among the prominent attendees. Their presence highlighted the significance of the Sadbhavana Diwas observance and underscored the commitment of the Raj Bhavan team to the values of harmony and dialogue promoted by the Sadbhavana Day Pledge.
