The “Cambodia-India Tourism Forum 2024” was officially opened on October 31, 2024, at the Borei Angkor Hotel in Siem Reap, with H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, presiding over the ceremony. The event, attended by 400 stakeholders, including officials from the Siem Reap Provincial Administration, the Indian Ambassador’s representative, and tourism industry leaders from both countries, aimed to discuss ways to enhance tourism between Cambodia and India.

Minister HUOT highlighted that the forum was part of the “First Cambodia-India Tourism Year 2024” campaign, which received endorsement from Prime Minister Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei HUN Manet. The campaign was launched in June 2024, coinciding with the launch of direct flights between India and Cambodia by Cambodia Angkor Air and India’s Indigo Airlines, set to begin in February 2025.

The forum provided a platform to encourage further collaboration between the Indian and Cambodian tourism sectors, with a focus on promoting Cambodia’s rich cultural heritage, security, and diverse tourism opportunities. Minister HUOT urged stakeholders to use social media to spread positive, real information about Cambodia and enhance its image as a safe and attractive destination for Indian tourists.

In his closing remarks, the Minister emphasized the importance of all participants acting as ambassadors for Cambodia-India tourism, underlining the slogan: “Tourism for All, and All for Tourism.”
