A high-level Brazilian business delegation from the state of Parana, led by State Deputy Marcelo Rangel, held talks with the All India Association of Industries (AIAI) and MVIRDC World Trade Center to explore new avenues of trade and investment with India. The discussions were organized in collaboration with the Indo-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
The delegation, which included mayors Dayane Sovinski of Imbau and Marcelo Palhares of Jacarezinho along with senior business leaders, highlighted Brazil’s investment opportunities in agriculture, IT, pharmaceuticals, and infrastructure. Deputy Rangel underscored Parana’s demand for agri-tech solutions, biofertilizers, IT services, and construction materials, inviting Indian firms to expand partnerships and consider joint R&D initiatives.
Welcoming the delegation, Dr. Vijay Kalantri, President of AIAI and Chairman of WTC, stressed the potential to significantly expand India-Brazil trade, currently valued at USD 12.2 billion. He identified IT, pharmaceuticals, sugar, ethanol, steel, and textiles as key growth sectors, while calling for steps to address high freight costs and logistical barriers.
The interaction concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to deeper economic engagement and collaborative ventures across strategic sectors.
