The Russian House in Mumbai came alive with music, art, and diplomacy as Russian and international artists presented a live concert to mark the 100th anniversary of “The Russian People’s Diplomacy.” Organized by the Russian Consulate in Mumbai, the event celebrated enduring cultural ties between India and Russia, offering audiences a glimpse into Russia’s rich artistic heritage.

Victor Gorelykh, Director of the Russian House, welcomed guests and introduced the performers, setting the tone for an evening of artistic collaboration. The distinguished audience included H.E. Mr. Ivan Fetisov (Consul General of Russia), H.E. Ms. Wang Awei (Deputy Consul General of China), and H.E. Mr. Aliaksandr Matsukou (Consul General of Belarus), reflecting the event’s diplomatic significance.

The concert featured three Russian artists and Croatian soprano Silvija Radjen Kumar. Saxophonist Alexey Yurushkin and pianist Tatyana Dichenko performed classical Russian compositions inspired by Alexander Pushkin, leaving the audience mesmerized with their technical mastery and expressive delivery. Silvija Radjen Kumar’s performance blended classical and modern influences, seamlessly merging Western and Russian styles, highlighting music’s power to transcend borders.

Attendees praised the rarity of such high-calibre Russian performances in Mumbai. Beyond entertainment, the event reinforced cultural dialogue and Indo-Russian artistic collaboration, emphasizing the preservation of folk traditions.

The evening reaffirmed the Russian House’s role as a hub of cultural diplomacy, where nations connect through creativity and shared heritage. As the final notes echoed, the audience departed with a lasting impression of unity and the universal language of music.
