Governor Launches Armed Forces Flag Fund Collection Drive in Mumbai

Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat launched the Armed Forces Flag Fund Collection Drive on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day at Lok Bhavan, Mumbai.

  During the ceremony, Director of Sainik Kalyan, Col (Retd) Deepak Thonge, affixed the miniature flag badge on the Governor’s attire, following which the Governor made his contribution to the fund. The programme was organized by the Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban Districts to raise awareness and collect donations in support of armed forces personnel and their families.

  Governor Devvrat also felicitated senior government officers, heads of public and private institutions, and citizens who had contributed significantly to the fund in the previous year.

  The event was attended by senior dignitaries including Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, AVSM, VSM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command; Lt Gen D S Kushwah, GOC Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa Area; Air Vice Marshal P S Wadodkar; Secretary GAD Pankaj Kumar; Secretary to the Governor Dr Prashant Narnaware; Konkan Divisional Commissioner Dr Vijay Suryawanshi; Collectors Saurabh Katiyar and Anchal Sood Goyal; and other officials.

  The drive aims to support the welfare of armed forces personnel, veterans, and their families through donations and public participation, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to those who serve on the frontlines.
