The Department of Posts on December 25, 2025, released a “First Flight Carried Special Cover” to commemorate the commencement of the first flight from Navi Mumbai International Airport to Manohar International Airport in Goa.
The special cover was released by Suchita Joshi, Postmaster General, Navi Mumbai Region, marking a historic moment for the newly developed airport and regional air connectivity.
The occasion was attended by Arun Bansal, Chief Executive Officer, Adani Airport Holdings Limited; B. V. J. K. Sharma, Chief Executive Officer, Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited; Ambar Dubey, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Aero); and Minal Naik, Head – Corporate Affairs and CSR, Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited.
Navi Mumbai International Airport is among India’s most ambitious greenfield airport projects and is expected to play a key role in reshaping the country’s aviation landscape. The launch of the Navi Mumbai–Goa flight is seen as a major step towards improving regional connectivity and supporting the rapid expansion of civil aviation infrastructure.
By releasing the First Flight Special Cover, the Department of Posts continued its tradition of commemorating significant national milestones, preserving such events as part of India’s philatelic heritage for future generations.
