More than 150 architects and interior designers from across Mumbai came together for a high-energy sporting showdown as the Asian Paints Beautiful Homes Invogue Architect Pickleball Tournament 2026 concluded with an exciting finals weekend on February 7 and 8.
Supported by the Indian Institute of Interior Designers (IIID), Mumbai Regional Chapter, the tournament combined fitness, competition, and camaraderie, reinforcing the growing popularity of pickleball within the design fraternity.
Following weeks of practice sessions at multiple venues across the city and a pre-event gala dinner at Sofitel Mumbai, the competition progressed through league and knockout stages to a closely contested final. Team Nexion emerged as champions, while Team Steelx finished runners-up, bringing Season 2 of the APB Tour to a successful close. Winning captain ID Soniya Potdarr said the tournament offered a refreshing break from routine work while fostering stronger professional bonds.

Ar. Milind Pai, Hon. Secretary, IIID Mumbai Regional Chapter, said the initiative succeeded in bringing the community together beyond office spaces, promoting health, teamwork, and meaningful engagement. Team captains Ar. Sandeep Shikre (Steelx), Ar. Ahmed Shaikh (Comlux), Ar. Vipul Tapke (Changi Lights), Ar. Reza Kabul (Heritage Marble), and Ar. Qutub Mandviwala (The Select) echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the spirit of sportsmanship that defined the event.
The tournament was powered by Asian Paints Beautiful Homes Invogue, with Heritage Marble, Comlux, The Select, Steelx, ARC ONE, Nexion, and Changi Lights leading teams through the competition. Industry leaders praised the initiative for blending wellness with professional networking.
Executed by Team IIGNITE Inc. under the leadership of Gauri Verma, the Architect Pickleball Tournament continues to grow as a unique platform combining sport, networking, and community-building. With Season 2 concluding on a high note, organisers hinted at a bigger and more inclusive edition next year.
