Taiwan Tourism, in partnership with Blink Brand Solution, is making a notable appearance at the ITB India event, taking place over three days at the Reliance Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai. This participation underscores Taiwan’s resurgence in the tourism sector and its commitment to reconnecting with Indian traveller’s post-pandemic.

At the event, Taiwan emphasized its strategic focus on attracting Indian travellers from key cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad. The spotlight was on the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) and Bleisure (business + leisure) travel segments. Taiwan, known for its world-class MICE facilities, is positioning itself as an ideal destination for corporate travellers by offering a distinctive mix of business and leisure experiences.

Taiwan caters to the growing number of Indian visitors with a range of Indian restaurants, including Michelin-starred dining options. These establishments offer an elevated culinary experience, combining international Flavors with traditional Taiwanese hospitality, ensuring a memorable gastronomic journey for Indian tourists.

Additionally, Taiwan is enhancing its appeal to Indian travellers with its “Taiwan: The Lucky Land” campaign, which offers exciting incentives upon arrival. Visitors who stay between 3 to 90 days can register 1 to 7 days before arrival for a chance to win prizes such as digital vouchers or accommodation worth NT$5,000 (INR 12,837) at Taiwan’s airports. The campaign aims to reward 500,000 travellers, adding a special touch to their visit.

Cindy Chen, Acting Director of Taiwan Tourism Administration, speaking to Mumbai Messenger at the event, stated, “Taiwan may be small, but it is a beautiful country with numerous destinations suitable for MICE events, tourism, and leisure activities. Our capital city, Taipei, features marvellous infrastructure and is a highly sought-after global city. For leisure travellers, there are many Indian restaurants throughout popular tourist and MICE destinations, including those that offer authentic Indian vegetarian dishes. I strongly encourage Indian visitors to experience Taiwan’s natural beauty and diverse offerings firsthand—seeing truly is believing.”

Cindy further noted, “Before the pandemic, Taiwan welcomed 40,000 visitors. In the first half of this year alone, approximately 19,000 visitors have already arrived. We are optimistic that by the end of the year, we will reach or even surpass the pre-COVID figure of 40,000 visitors. Taiwan is a highly welcoming and competitive destination that greatly enhances corporate events, conferences, and conventions. Beyond its exceptional urban landmarks for hosting events, Taiwan offers a wealth of outdoor activities amidst its lush mountain ranges, coastline, and beaches. Visitors can also explore mountain lakes, exciting wellness offerings, cultural treasures, and a rich heritage. Taiwan truly has something for everyone.”
