First and last train for Migrant of Gujrat left from Borivali

Shiv Sena Shakha Pramukh Subhash Dhanuka’s effort: 1500 workers left to Palanpur    

There was a demand from migrant workers of Gujrat to make arrangement train to travel to their home town. It came to notice of Subhash Dhanuka, Shiv Sena Shakha Pramukh of shakha number 44, when some people approached him.  He took keen initiative and arrange to collect names of migrants who wanted to go to Palanpur in Gujrat.

As 31st May was the last day for migrant train to traverse, Dhanuka took speedy initiative and arranged list of 1500 migrants. This list was handed over to MLA Sunil Prabhu and MP Gajanan Kirtikar for their support. Sudhakar Surve, Shivsena vibhag pramukh also taken keen initiative for plight of migrants from Gujrat.

The final list of passengers was submitted by above leaders to Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray. The CM office sent list on top urgently to Railway Minister for arranging train. Indeed, there was a quick response from railway ministry too.  Finally, the train was scheduled for last day. It was departed from Borivali station on   31st May, 2020 at 11.00 pm. It was a keen initiative by Subhash Dhanuka, DCP Zone 12 Dr. D. S. Swami and Senior PI Kurar Police station.

Subhash Dhanuka, Shivsena Shakha Pramukh of Shakha number 44 said “There were a demand for migrant train to Gujrat but it was not materialized. When some people approached me, I tried got in touch with them and list of 1500 people can be made on war footing level as last day was approaching. My efforts and support of Shivsena leaders, train was arranged. This was a first and last train for Gujrat which left to Palanpur”.

Dhanuka further added, “We didn’t want that migrant worker should travel hungry, we have provided them with dinner packet and mineral water bottle for their journey. We ensured that proper line is formed and social distancing is maintained as per prescribed protocol”.
