Seasoned hotelier Ravi Rai recently joined as Cluster General Manager of Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach, Novotel Vijayawada Varun and The Bheemli Resort Managed by Accor Hotels. While Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach and Novotel Vijayawada Varun have a proposition that of a leisure hotel, Ravi also spearheads the operations of a wellness resort – The Bheemli. In his previous assignment, Ravi Rai held the position as General Manager of Hilton Hotel Mumbai.
Ravi brings with him a wealth of experience having two decades in the hotel industry. Well-known to the hotel business, Ravi’s career has included being in various positions in the food and beverage department. His previous roles have been with Novotel Visakhapatnam, Ibis Novotel Bengaluru, Park Plaza Bengaluru and Vivanta by Taj Kovalam.
Ravi is born in Manglore but raised, educated and married in Pune. He is a first person from his family who opted for the hospitality profession. He completed his primary education from St. Patricks School Pune, graduation from Vidya Bhavan College (University of Pune) and completed his catering education from Dina Institute of hotel management, Pune. Described as an industrious, dynamic professional by his colleagues, Ravi worked his way up the ladder in a short span of time.
Ravi started out as managing the beverage services at the Holiday Inn, Pune for prominent events including the President’s Sit down Party. His strengths were recognized in no time and he soon took charge as the banquet manager, accountable for overall functioning of the department. In his next career trajectory, Ravi essayed a pivotal role in successfully establishing Vivanta by Taj in Trivandrum in the role of food and beverage manager. Ravi spearheaded overall F&B operations, directed strategic planning to achieve high sales figures and played a stellar role in the setup and launch of an excellent 130 covers beach restaurant at the property.
Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach
He was later associated with Park Plaza Bengaluru in a role of Executive Assistant Manager (EAM), and was actively involved in budget formulation and strategic management to maximize revenue. He continued his ascension in the F&B field with the post of director of food and beverage at Ibis Novotel Bengaluru. In this property, he guided 6 F&B outlet and a large banqueting facility teams to achieve financial targets, food quality and hygiene, guest satisfaction, budgets and operational controls. Under his leadership, the team exceeded the year to date budget, and became the first instance of banquet achieving budget for the hotel.
The ambitious Ravi took over the mantle of general manager at Novotel Visakhapatnam, and made lateral move to Novotel Chennai. Under Ravi’s leadership, both these hotels achieved several industry awards and achieved business results to establish him as a smart expert in the hospitality business.

Ravi is passionate about sports and fitness. In his leisure time, Ravi prefers to complete reading a new book or spend time with his wife and a young son.
