Summan R Agrawal, Akhil Bhartiya Agrawal Sammelan’s (ABAS) National Secretary felicitated Miss World 2019 Suman Rao. Ms Rao was gifted with a symbol of Agrasen Maharaj, it contained 1 brick and 1 rupee. The felicitation event was held on New Year’s Eve.

During the felicitation event Suresh Rathod, President of Rajasthani Pravasi Sangh, Ghatkopar, Sunil Jain, President of Trade & Commerce Cell of North East Mumbai Congress also honoured her with a bouquet.

It may be noted that Suman Ratan Singh Rao represented India at the Miss World 2019 beauty pageant in London on December 14, 2019 and won the title of Miss World Asia 2019. Suman was adjudged as the second runner-up of Miss World 2019.

Summan R Agrawal, speaking to Mumbai Messenger Newspaper said “Suman Rao is the first girl from Rajasthan to be positioned in Miss World platform. We really feel proud for her achievement. We at ABAS decided to felicitate her because her roots are in Rajasthan. She has become a role model for Rajasthani girls and many girls are coming forward to be a part of such a mega event to showcase their talent”.

Suman Rao’s Journey to Pageantry

Suman Rao was born on 23 November 1998 in Aaidana village, Rajsamand District, near Udaipur, Rajasthan. Her father, Ratan Singh Rao, is a jeweller, while mother Sushila Kunwar Rao is a homemaker. She is also a trained Kathak dancer.

Suman began her pageantry journey in Miss Navi Mumbai contest, where she was crowned as 1st runner-up in 2018. Later she auditioned for the title of Femina Miss Rajasthan 2019, and eventually won. She represented the state of Rajasthan at the Femina Miss India 2019 pageant and was crowned as Femina Miss India World .During the pageant’s sub contest ceremony; she won the ‘Miss Rampwalk’ award.

 Rao is the first Indian to be crowned the 2nd runner-up at the Miss World pageant. She represented India at the 69th edition of Miss World pageant, where she placed third in the ‘Top Model’ round and Top 27 in ‘Talent’ segment. She competed against Bangladesh in the round, where she won and secured a spot in the Top 40 of Miss World 2019. The pageant’s finale was held in ExCeL London, on 14 December 2019. Rao was the 2nd runner-up to the eventual winner, Toni-Ann Singh from Jamaica.
