Sports biopics have always done wonders at the box-office. While Paan Singh Tomar (2012), Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013), Mary Kom (2014), Dangal (2016), and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016) are some of the most loved sports biopics of the decade gone by, films like ‘83 Shabash Mithu, and Rashmi Rocket are being awaited with much anticipation.
Next up in potential talks is popular former cricketer, Harbhajan Singh. He recently opened up on who he thinks should play him onscreen in his biopic. In an interview, Harbhajan revealed that according to him, the star who he thinks can best play him onscreen is none other than Ranveer Singh.
Singh also believes that Kiara Advani will be most suited to play his wife Geeta Basra’s role. “I think Ranveer Singh as the lead. He will play Harbhajan Singh. For Geeta, I think Kiara Advani,” he said.
However, Basra was quick to disagree. According to her, the best people to play them onscreen are Vicky Kaushal and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. “I think Vicky Kaushal could do Harbhajan’s role. If someone had to play me, I would say Priyanka Chopra,” she said.
Reacting to the wife’s choice, Harbhajan said, “I would have said Priyanka as well but she hardly spends any time in India now.”
Basra replied, “Kiara looks nothing like me. The actors have to be relatable. They have to look like us.”
Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra married each other on 29th October 2015, in Jalandhar. They have a daughter, Hinaya Heer Plaha, who was born on 27th July 27 2016 in Portsmouth, Hampshire.
