Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said that every accused who was instrumental in killing 130 BJP workers in Bengal will be brought to book if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wins the coming West Bengal Assembly polls.

Speaking at a rally in West Bengal’s Namkhana, Shah also promised to conduct a high-level investigation into alleged Cyclone Amphan corruption. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi had sent money for the victims of Cyclone Amphan but Trinamool Congress (TMC) goons did not allow the money to reach people. The common people have been deprived of the benefits,” the Home Minister said.

Taking a dig at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over raising of ‘Jai Sri Ram’ slogan, Shah said, “Didi gets angry and insulted hearing ‘Jai Sri Ram’ slogan. This slogan is a symbol of opposing appeasement and we should raise the slogan so loud that it reaches the ears of Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata.”

Wooing government employees ahead of polls, Shah said, “In Bengal, the seventh Pay Commission has not been implemented, contrary to other parts of the country. After coming to power, we will bring the pay at par with the country. He promised that the government will also implement 33 per cent reservation for women in government jobs.”

“After BJP forms government in Bengal, four lakh fishermen will receive Rs 6000 as ‘Fishermen Samman Nidhi’ like the Kishan Samman Nidhi. Fishermen Produce organisation will be formed to help the fishermen get proper price for their produce,” he added.

In South 24 Parganas, Shah said, the new BJP government, will create Seafood Processing hub. South 24 Parganas district, specially Namkhana, is dominated by the fishermen community.

“Gangasagar will be an international tourist hub and it will be declared as international fair so that foreign tourists will come to Bengal during the holy fair,” Amit Shah claimed.

Flagging off the final leg of the five-phase Parivartan Yatra from South 24 Parganas district in West Bengal, Amit Shah said the Parivartan Yatra will pass through all 294 assembly constituencies, paving the way for growth and development.

“There will 1500 plus rallies in Bengal and every booth worker will participate in it. This is a fight for transforming Bengal to ‘Sonar Bangla’ the one dreamt by Rabindranath Tagore and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose,” the Union Home Minister further said.

Elaborating his stand, Shah said, “The fight is between BJP and syndicate raj in the state. Our aim is not to uproot Mamata Banerjee but to change the situation at the grassroots level- be it is law and order or becoming free from syndicate raj. A change in the situation when people will not pay a bribe for his work.”
