Urban Development Minister the Chairman of MMRDA Eknath Shinde chaired the 150th meeting of the authority on Tuesday and approved a budget of ₹12,969.35 crore.
“The budget makes special provisions for infrastructure projects like public transport and Metro railway,” a press release said.
An amount of ₹250 crore has been earmarked for the Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ (third corridor) of the Metro railway.
The Metro rail routes 2-A from Dahisar to D N Nagar in Andheri and the corridor from Dahisar (East) to Andheri (East) are likely to begin commercial operations from this year and hence, they have been provided with an outlay of ₹700.65 crore and ₹999.45 crore respectively.
The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link project got ₹2,900.35 crore. The Balasaheb Thackeray memorial got ₹100 crore while the Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar memorial got ₹260 crore.
Other allocations include Bandra Kurla Complex (including the Kalanagar flyover) with ₹60 crore, Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP) with ₹405 crore, and Mumbai Urban Infrastructure Project (MUIP-Extended) with ₹776.85 crore.
The maintenance and repairs of the Eastern and Western Express highways got ₹200 crore.
