The man who stopped Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn’s car over his tweet regarding farmers’ protest in Goregaon, was released on bail on Tuesday night.

According to a news agency, the Mumbai Police confirmed that the man, identified as Rajdeep Ramesh Singh (28), was later charged with sections 504 and 506 (ii) of the Indian Penal Code and got bail on the same day. Singh is a driver by profession.

The incident occurred around when Devgn was headed to Film City in his vehicle for the shoot of one of his upcoming films. Singh, who lives in the same neighbourhood, was travelling in an auto when he spotted the actor’s car.

Devgn’s bodyguards tried to move Singh away, however, which he kept insisting that the actor should step out of the vehicle and talk to him.

Meanwhile, the farmers’ protest, which began on November 26 last year against the newly enacted three farm laws, continues as no new dates for discussions between the government and farmers’ unions have been declared.
