Sooryavanshi postponed again due to rising Coronavirus cases?

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s much delayed film Sooryavanshi, which was originally scheduled to release on 24th March, 2020, has been awaiting a release since its trailer was unleashed last year.

However, the film has been facing several issues with its release due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

Rumours were doing the rounds lately that the film could enter theatres on April 2, after the Central Government allowed 100% occupancy in cinemas.

But if fresh reports are to be believed, the sudden rise in Coronavirus cases has resulted in a further delay to the release of the action film.

“It’s going to be a wait-and-watch situation. Everybody in the Sooryavanshi team and even the whole industry is hoping that the cases would reduce. If that happens, the Maharashtra government won’t add curbs and would also pave the way for 100% occupancy in cinemas. A clear scenario would emerge by early next week. The makers want to release the movie in the maximum screens and shows with 100% permissible occupancy,” a source informs a publication.

Sooryavanshi stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. This is the first time when Rohit Shetty has worked with the two stars on a film.
