Thakur College organizes Cortokino International short film festival

Thakur College of Science and Commerce, department of Mass Media, organized Cortokino, an international short film festival. It was initiated with the idea of bringing together all the dreamers and artists who believe in the soul of film making. The various categories included International films, National films, regional and animated films. One winner from each category was selected for the award.

The two films, namely, Imdaad from national category and Broken Doll from International category were awarded the prize in their respective category as best film. The guest of honour for the event was noted film actor Vijay Raaz. He shared his experiences as an actor and the pressure of being a part of the mainstream film industry. The students were also joined in by the cast of Dev DD and Crashh as they passed on some amazing moments while filming this thrilling series. The overall event was a success.

One of the participants from the national category short film on the condition of anonymity said “We are fortunate that Cortokino gives an opportunity to showcase our work which is considered a superb platform. We are thankful that appropriate opportunities are given to be a part of this event. It is basically a motivation for small film makers”.

It may be noted that CortoKino has been a hub for film makers from around the globe ever since its launch in the past eight years. It has witnessed more and more promising film makers participating every year. The participants were absolutely cautious by wearing masks and following the Covid guidelines by ensuring social distancing..
