Maharashtra government on Friday imposed strict restrictions in the Pune district in view of a sharp rise in COVID-19 cases in the state.
As per the orders issued by Pune divisional commissioner Saurabh Rao, a 12-hour night curfew from 6 pm to 6 am will be in place in Pune from tomorrow (Saturday).
The situation will be reviewed next Friday.
All bars, hotels and restaurants will remain shut during the next 7 days.
Only home delivery will be allowed, reported a news agency quoting the Pune divisional commissioner.
Restrictions have also been imposed on public gatherings.
No public function, except funerals and weddings, will be allowed.
A maximum of 20 people at funerals and 50 at weddings are permitted.
As per the latest guidelines, religious places in the district will also be completely closed for the next 7 days.
