In a latest development Chennai air customs seized gold worth Rs. 11.83 from 2 passengers who arrived from Dubai by Air India flight AI-906. Two passengers namely Sahubar Ali, 32 and Mohamed Jabir, 24 both residents of Ramanathapuram were intercepted on suspicion at exit gate.
On their personal search they three gold bundles were recovered from rectum, one from Sahubar Ali and two from Jabir. The total weights of gold were 253 grams on extraction which is valued at Rs. 11.83 in totality. Both gold smugglers are arrested and sent to custody under Customs Act. Further investigation is on as per press released by Chennai Air Customs.
