Mumbai to face water cut for five days from May 17

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday announced a 10 per cent water cut in the city of Mumbai starting May 17.

The civic body stated that the 10 per cent water cut across Mumbai will be in effect from May 17 to May 21 due to emergency repair work of pneumatic valves on Pise Dam supplying water to the BMC.

The BMC has therefore requested the residents to keep water stored to avoid inconvenience.

An official added, “It is being appealed to the citizens of Mumbai to properly store and use water sparingly during this water cut period and also to cooperate with the BMC administration.”
