Two persons have been detained in Thane district’s Ambernath town for beating a man to death in broad daylight on Thursday.
A video of the incident has been going viral on social media wherein a group of men can be seen thrashing the deceased Vijay Navalgire and attacking him with a rock.
According to the local police officials, the incident took place near the victim’s residence at B-Cabin Road around 3 pm.
After beating him up, the men even dragged him out of his building compound and left him on the street.
At least five men are reported to be involved in the murder.
“The attack was allegedly linked to the victim’s love marriage,” an official said.
A case has been registered against the accused under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and a search operation has been launched to nab the other accused.
