Kunal Chauhan, a seasoned hotelier joins as the new General Manager at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar. He brings with him almost two decades of varied experience. Prior to his new role, he was working as the General Manager at The Leela Palace, Bengaluru. He has previously worked for various prestigious hotel chains; his employers have included The Oberoi Hotels & Resorts and The Leela Hotels and Resorts.
He is known as General Manager with a proven track record of operating and managing some of the finest Luxury and first class business hotels. He has worked closely with owner operated as well as managed hotels around India. Skilled in managing Sales, Marketing, Rooms and Food & Beverage operation with strong financial understanding of the hotel business.
Kunal, in his new role as General Manager of the JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, envisions a stellar roadmap for the hotel’s leading position within the hospitality landscape. With his robust experience across several disciplines, Kunal will steer the property to provide experiences that are synonymous with the JW Marriott brand.
Kunal completed his hotel management from Institute of Hotel Management from 1997 – 2000. He later joined The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development, popularly known as OCLD in 2000 – 2002. After completing his valued education, he began his career as Restaurant Manager and duty manager at Oberoi hotels in Kolkata and never looked back thereafter. He succeeded in climbing the ladder of success inch by inch.
Kunal has wide-ranging experience under his belt, his key strengths lie in (but not limited to) hotel operations, marketing, food & beverage, team management and financial management. He is also committed to stellar financial performance, market share growth, improving service standards as well as maintaining excellent relationships with stakeholders.
Besides being extremely business focussed, he is also passionate about travel and spending time outdoors. His competitive spirit draws him to sports and he can often be found playing Badminton and Squash. Chauhan’s go-getter attitude allowed him to complete the Himalayan 10-day base camp trek in the peak winter season, prior to the pandemic. He is also hopeful of completing the top 5 marathons and top 5 trekking routes across the globe.
