Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrests another foreign national in Mumbai cruise drugs case

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has made the twentieth arrest in the Mumbai cruise drug bust case with the arrest of a foreign national.

NCB officials said that based on the preliminary interrogation of the accused, the Mumbai unit launched follow-up operations in the matter on the evening of October 9, Saturday.

A team of NCB Mumbai mounted surveillance in front of Westin Gate, Oberoi garden city, International Business Park, Yashodham, Goregaon, Mumbai and intercepted a Nigerian national named Okaro Ouzama, along with intermediate quantity of cocaine last night.

This marks the twentieth arrest and the second foreign national to be apprehended in connection with the case.

As per the media release, officials said NCB Mumbai is making an effort to explore the foreign links in the case on the basis of interrogation of all the accused persons. Further investigation is underway.

NCB officials also clarified allegations levelled by NCP leader Nawab Malik regarding the use of two private persons, including a BJP worker, during the raid on the Cordelia cruise ship on October 2.

The release by the anti-drugs agency said, “A total of nine independent witnesses were involved in the whole operation and Manish Bhanushali and K P Gosavi were among them. Neither of these two independent witnesses i.e. Manish Bhanushali and K P Gosavi, were known to NCB before 02/10/2021 operation.”
