As the world opens up again, Masters of Marriott Bonvoy and Culinary Culture brings the World’s Best Chef – Massimo Bottura to Mumbai for a once-in-lifetime culinary experience of his epicurean excellence.

Culinary Culture, India’s definitive voice in food has been crafted with the singular vision of bringing India to the world and the world to India. It’s a brainchild of Sameer Sain, Co-Founder, and CEO, of Everstone Group, and India’s food authority Vir Sanghvi. Since its inception, Culinary Culture has aimed to make India an integral part of the global food scene and they have done so by already bringing several culinary icons to our country. In addition, they offer Indian chefs a platform to showcase themselves across the world.

Chef Bottura will travel with his team from Osteria Francescana to cook two exclusive dinners which will take place on the 15th and 16th of April at the St Regis Mumbai. The menu includes Bottura’s most famous and signature dishes such as ‘Oops I dropped the Lemon Tart’, a dish created by mistake but has come to signify that in life mistakes happen, but we must move on and improvise in each situation. Other dishes include ‘The Crunchy Part of the Lasagne, a childhood favourite of Bottura, who ate only the crispy and burnt corner parts of his grandmother’s homemade lasagne, and ‘Beautiful Psychedelic Beet Not Flamed, Grilled’ a dish that was created as a tribute to English artist Damien Hirst’s spin-painted canvases.

It may be noted that spearheaded by CEO- of Culinary Culture, Raaj Sanghvi, in 2020 the company brought down Mauro Colagreco of Mirazur, the former World No.1 restaurant from France, and next week will present the biggest name in global gastronomy Massimo Bottura from the two-time World No.1 and Three Michelin starred restaurant Osteria Francescana in Italy.

Chef Massimo Bottura, two-time World No.1 Chef, restaurateur, and philanthropist said “Namaste India! I can’t wait to be with you in your amazing country very soon. I’ve always loved India and its amazing people. Yes, people, more than food, it’s the people, I love the smiles and attitudes. I will be coming with my team from Osteria Francescana in Modena to cook two very special dinners for Culinary Culture and Masters of Marriott Bonvoy in Mumbai. I can’t wait to come and hug you all with a warm hug and beautiful food, sending you lots of love from Italy. Ciao!”

It’s worth mentioning that Chef Bottura is indisputably the most famous culinary name in the world. Hence, it is no surprise that Mumbai’s gourmet community is clambering for seats at this coveted culinary event which will be a part of the acclaimed Masters of Marriott Bonvoy initiative.

Marketing stalwart, Khushnooma Kapadia, Senior Area Director of Marketing – South Asia, Marriott International said “We created Masters of Marriott to reinforce our commitment to bringing world-class hospitality and cuisine to India. Chefs like Heston Blumenthal and Mauro Colagreco, who we have partnered with in the past have brought their legendary skills and culinary genius into our kitchens teaching and interacting with our chefs and presenting their cuisines to our guests and loyal members. We are extremely delighted to bring the globally recognized No. 1 chef – Massimo Bottura to the country. We plan to further consolidate our relationship and partnership with Culinary Culture who are our valued partners to ensure that guests at Marriott Hotels in India continue to enjoy these ‘once in lifetime culinary experiences from some of the greatest chefs in the world.”

It’s worth mentioning that Culinary Culture truly believes in harnessing community and that knowledge should be shared. They have also curated an invite-only exclusive event where Bottura will be in a culinary conversation with Vir Sanghvi, with the top Indian chefs in attendance.

Raaj Sanghvi, the CEO, of Culinary Culture, said “I’ve known Massimo for a while and in 2018 visited him in Modena to convince him to come to India. We were all set to welcome him and his team in 2020, but of course, the world had other plans. We kept in touch through the pandemic and are so thrilled to finally be able to make this happen. Massimo is much more than a chef, he is a role model for people across the world, bringing him to India to cook, is part of our endeavour to bring the world’s best to India. We will take him around and let him see how amazing our cuisine is and will also organise a special session for him with some of India’s leading chefs so we can facilitate a culinary exchange of ideas.”

#MassimoinMumbai will be the biggest culinary event in India since the global lockdown and if the response is anything to go by, it will be well worth the 3 years that went into its making!
