The Ambassador announced setting up a Centre of Excellence in Dairy in Maharashtra State.

The Ambassador of the Royal Danish Embassy in India His Excellency Freddy Svane called on Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari at his official residence, Raj Bhavan in Mumbai on November, 22nd, 2022.  The ambassador was accompanied by Minister Counsellor and Head of the Trade and Commercial Affairs of Denmark in India, Soren Kannik-Marquardsen and Vice Consul in Mumbai Henry Karkada.

The Ambassador in meeting with the governor stated that Denmark will be setting up a Centre of Excellence in Dairy in Maharashtra. In this regard he has had a discussion in this regard with Maharashtra’s Minister of Animal Husbandry Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil.

The Ambassador also highlighted that Denmark is offering technological solutions to India in addressing its environmental problems caused due to stubble burning. He said Denmark is already working with UP, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and other States. Mentioning that Denmark is setting up a Wind Park in Tamil Nadu. He also said that Denmark would like to help the farmers of India in becoming business people. The Ambassador thanked India for providing the country Covid vaccines.

Welcoming the Ambassador to Maharashtra, the Governor assured that he will extend all possible help to Denmark in further strengthening cooperation with the State.

About H. E. Freddy SvaneBorn in 1957 H. E. Freddy Svane is the second time Ambassador to India. He graduated with a History Degree, University of Copenhagen and Graduated in Law, University of Copenhagen.  He is an ardent lover of Indian delicacies, his favourite is Dosa’a and Hyderabadi Biryani. His favourite hotels in India are Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad, if someone really wanted to be treated like a royal. And then there is the Taj Mahal Palace hotel in Mumbai, he feels there’s nothing like it anywhere else in the world. As far as Indian festivals are concerned, he likes Holi and Diwali. In his view, they are magnificent, whether you celebrate with the elite of Delhi or anywhere else.

He is perhaps the only diplomat to become two-time Ambassador to leading nations like India and Japan.
