In a recent development Mrs. Bilen Arefaine has taken over as Ethiopian Airlines Regional Director, India Sub Continent. She is stationed in Mumbai. She took charge of her latest position from outgoing Regional Director India, Mrs. Tigist Eshetu. Prior to her new assignment, she was holding the post of Area Manager, Israel.
Mrs Bilen has been associated with Ethiopian for more than two decades. She joined Ethiopian Airlines in the year 2000 and climbed up the ladder of success. She served the Airline in various positions in Human Resource Management, Marketing & Sales.
Mrs. Bilen holds a post graduate degree from the prestigious Addis Ababa University. She completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management and Public Administration and a Master’s Degree in Development Studies.
Her rich, varied and long-standing experience will be an opportunity towards elevating ET’s operation in the Indian Sub-Continent. In a press note it was highlighted that “We are delighted to welcome another Woman leader to India and are proud of ET’s commitment to empower women in its future objectives”.
It is worth mentioning that prior to Mrs Bilen, the coveted post of RD India Sub Continent of Ethiopian Airlines was held by a woman namely Mrs. Tigist Eshetu. This move of ET highlights that women of substance will hold positions in various capacities across the ET network.
It is worth mentioning that Ethiopian Airlines has witnessed rapid growth, network extension, upgrading level of services rendered to its valued customers, introduction of the New Generation Boeings and use of the state of art technology and programs that cope with the successive advancements in the airline industry.
Currently, Ethiopian is the largest and fastest growing and the most profitable Airline in Africa, and one of few such airlines in the world. Ethiopian is also Winner of many prestigious awards. Her appointment in India has come at a very challenging time for the airline.
