Millets are a group of small-seeded grasses that have been cultivated for centuries in various parts of the world. They are known for their exceptional nutritional content, packed with vitamins, minerals, and dietary fibre. Millets are a rich source of protein, making them an ideal choice for those looking to increase their protein intake, especially for vegetarians and vegans. Additionally, millets have a low glycaemic index, making them suitable for managing blood sugar levels and supporting weight management.

Chef Rishi Kapoor, Executive Chef at The Lalit Mumbai said “The Healthy Millet Menu is a celebration of the rich culinary and agricultural heritage of India. Millets are not only packed with nutrients, but they also provide a sustainable solution that benefits both our well-being and the livelihoods of our farmers”.

The Healthy Millet Menu offers a wide range of millet-based dishes that cater to different tastes and preferences. From Foxtail Millet and Barnyard Millet to Finger Millet and Kodo Millet, each variety brings its unique flavour and nutritional benefits. In addition to the health benefits, the incorporation of millets at The Lalit Hotel Mumbai aligns with the hotel’s commitment to sustainability and supporting local farmers. Millets require less water and fewer resources to grow, making them an eco-friendly choice for agriculture. By sourcing millets from local farmers, The Lalit Hotel Mumbai not only supports the community but also contributes to reducing the carbon footprint associated with food transportation.

Incorporating millets into its culinary offerings, The Lalit Hotel Mumbai has taken a significant step towards promoting healthy and sustainable dining experiences for its guests.
