A hardcore ITC man and a thorough hotelier, Kunal Pahwa has joined ITC Grand Central, one of the most prestigious luxury hotels in Mumbai as General Manager recently. He brings a wealth of hospitality experience with him of almost two decades. Prior to his new appointment, he was working as General Manager at Welcomehotel, Jodhpur.
Kunal did his primary schooling from Army Public School Jalandhar and higher secondary education from Army Public School SriNagar J&K. Soon after completing his higher secondary, he joined his dream profession at the esteemed ITC Welcomgroup Management Institute, the country’s premier hotel management training institute. He graduated from the first batch of the Welcomlegionnaire Program in year 2000 and never looked back thereafter. He climbed ladder of success
Kunal comes from a family of defence background. He inherited the values of discipline and adaptability. Kunal’s love for travel has been a driving force in his career, making him highly adaptable to diverse environments. He is the first person from his entire family to venture out in the hospitality industry, no one before him worked in the hospitality industry. His Defence background in the family always inspired him to be on point in whatever he does. Be it studies, entertainment or time management, the hospitality industry demands the same too, to be precise and perfect in whatever we do as hoteliers.
Kunal has had a great journey with ITC hotels and his dedication to the hospitality industry has been unwavering. He served as the Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage at ITC Grand Central, contributing three years of superlative service. Following that, he continued to excel, assuming the role of Food and Beverage Manager at ITC Mughal. Thereafter he took on the mantle of General Manager at Welcomhotel Jodhpur, Rajasthan. After almost three years at this property, Kunal makes a nostalgic return to Mumbai as he rejoins ITC Grand Central, a place close to his heart where he once began his career at the young age of 18.
Beyond his professional achievements, Kunal is an avid enthusiast of outdoor sports, with a passion for basketball and golf that he has nurtured since childhood. His journey in the hospitality industry is a testament to his belief that it’s a field driven by passion, where the fire inside must burn bright.
