The Indonesian Embassy in New Delhi in association with the Consulate General of Indonesia in Mumbai celebrated the 75th year of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and India this year. The celebration was held at The World Trade Centre at Cuffe Parade in Mumbai.
The event was attended by noted luminaire, Indian Industrialist Adi Godrej and diplomats from various countries. Milind Hardas, Joint Secretary of Government of Maharashtra and Protocol officer was present during the event. Besides, Numerous Consul Generals and diplomats also joined the event, few of them comprised H.E. Aleksander Danda CG of Poland, H.E. Erik Hallstrom CG of Finland, H.E. Dr. Valsan Vethody CG of Sri Lanka, H.E. Dr. FUKAHORI Yasukata, CG of Japan in Mumbai, H. E. Selma Sellie Fivelsdal- Consul of Norwegian, and H.E. Alexxey Kalugin Consul from Russian Consulate to name a few.
Her Excellency Inna Krishnamurthi, Indonesian Ambassador to India and Bhutan was the chief guest. Manisha Mhaiskar IAS, Chief Protocol Officer and Additional Chief Secretary was a guest of honour. His Excellency Eddy Wardoyo, Consul General of Indonesia in Mumbai presided over the function. He raised the toast with Champagne to all the visiting guests and dignitaries.
Indonesian Ambassador H.E. Inna Krishnamurthi in her speech mentioned a deep relationship with India for ages. On the new logo of 75 years of Indonesia and India relationship. The new logo consists of the Indian flag, Indonesian flag, Indian National Bird Peacock along with Indonesian National bird Garuda. It is designed in the heart shape and tagline of monogram is building the bridge from Past, present and future.
The Ambassador also highlighted that the logo is selected from 69 artists from both Indian and Indonesian nationals. This monogram will be jointly used at both missions in India and Indonesia for all the activities throughout the year.
Manisha Mhaiskar IAS, Chief Protocol Officer and Additional Chief Secretary, Chief Secretary Government of Maharashtra said “Indonesia have deep historical and cultural relations. Epics such as Ramayana and Mahabharata hold a special grip on the hearts of many Indonesians. The diplomatic relations between both countries, however, began in 1949. A year later, Indonesia’s first president Sukarno was the first Chief guest to be invited to India’s Republic Day celebration in 1950’. She added “In 2018, Indonesia and India advanced their relations into a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Indonesia. PM Modi also attended the 20th ASEAN-India Summit back in September 2023 in Jakarta”.
His Excellency Eddy Wardoyo, CG of Indonesia in Mumbai said “Indonesia and India relations are ancient and are of great significance to both countries. India tookoverG20 Presidency fromIndonesia at a time of geopolitical tumult and uncertainty over post-pandemic economic recovery.It was a great achievement for both countries. We are working out various modalities to expand greater relationships in different areas and surely it will take it to the next level in a period to come.
