ITC Grand Central Organises Marathon Ahead of International Women’s Day at Queens Necklace

ITC Grand Central’s Marathon commenced at Nariman Point.

The energetic ladies of ITC Grand Central Mumbai organized a vibrant Women’s Day marathon as part of the celebrations for the upcoming International Women’s Day. The marathon was held on March 3rd, 2024.began at Nariman Point which culminated at PJ Hindu Gymkhana.

The Women’s Day Run on Sunday, with over 30 enthusiastic participants. The event began at 6:30 am, symbolizing the spirit of unity and empowerment. Team members from all walks of life, regardless of gender, came together to celebrate this special occasion on a Sunday morning.

The flag-off ceremony was graced by the presence of Selma Dsilva, a distinguished figure in Indian sports. Selma Juliet Christina D’Silva, a former player for the Indian Women’s Hockey Team. She represented India at the 1980 Summer Olympics and the 1982 Asian Games.

The event not only promoted fitness and well-being but also showcased the commitment of ITC Grand Central Mumbai towards fostering inclusivity and celebrating the achievements of women in sports and beyond.

All the participants’ ladies were very excited and energetic, few of them were present with their infants. To boost morale, Kunal Pahwa, General Manager of ITC Grand Central and Paul Noronha, Executive Chef also present.

Kunal Pahwa, General Manager – ITC Grand Central said “Women are the foundation of development. The aim of organising the Women’s Day Marathon was to raise awareness among the people. This marathon is a symbolic gesture towards acknowledging and promoting the health and empowerment of women, marking a call to action for equality and progress. We at ITC Grand Central believe in women empowerment and there many ladies who are heading the department that includes Sugandha Kaul Batra- Learning & Development Manager, Dristi Hatimuria- Public Relations Manager, Champa Singh- Front Office Manager, Akriti Mehan – Executive Housekeeper, Mary Lalrinsangi – Spa Manager, Nirmala Bhanu – Loss Prevention Manager and Isha Pareek- Head of Finance to name a few”.
