Chef Dayashankar Sharma, a prominent figure in the culinary world, has recently been awarded the Artisan Chef Overseas 2024 Award by Better Kitchen magazine. Based in the United Kingdom, Chef Sharma is renowned for elevating Indian cuisine to new heights and is celebrated for his culinary talents.
The Better Kitchen magazine awards are among the most prestigious in the industry, recognizing exceptional chefs and culinary innovation. Chef Sharma, an award-winning chef, successfully runs two popular restaurants in the UK: Heritage Dulwich and Jhakaas at Brockley Rise, both beloved by Indian and British patrons alike.
A recipient of the Michelin Plate, Chef Sharma has earned numerous accolades, including Best Chef at the Asian and Oriental Chef Awards 2020, multiple recognitions from the Michelin Guide, and honors from the London Curry Awards and the Asian Curry Awards. Notably, he was named Asian Chef of the Year in 2021 and Best Chef of the Year National Winner in 2020, an award presented at the British Parliament’s House of Lords.
With over three decades of culinary experience, Chef Sharma has worked with India’s prestigious Taj and Oberoi hotels before moving to London to refine his skills. Known for blending traditional techniques with contemporary ideas, he approaches every dish with passion and commitment. In addition to his restaurant ventures, Chef Sharma teaches Heritage recipes of India to foreign hospitality students in London and is planning to launch an organic farm and product line in India.
